that person leaves school. >> early indications are now that 20-year old adam lanza had some form of mental illness that his family was trying to deal with. some o reportings say that his mother had told a friend that adam was beginning to conspire out of control. many families do themselves in that situation. we may never know what was wrong with adam lanza but for families dealing with mental illness, it can tear them apart and by the time it gets to the level where the police are involved, it's too late. >> it appears it's a factor many the most recent shootings. the family appears to have had some knowledge of emotional mental health issues. while welike to try to handle l things westbound our family -- within our family. i think there's a point in time where the family needs to reach out to the professionals. i think that's a key component

cases, come up with opening and closing arguments i thought it would real lly bring me out of my comfort zone and get me thinking on my feet. >> this is a lot of fun. we'velearned about projecting our voices. kind of preparing us to think off the top of our heads. >> local volunteer attorneys mentor the students teaching them skills to win the case. they also sit in as judges they get to see a real court trial up close and personal and participate in it and it's great to see things from the inside out the program is for kids ages 10 to 18 years old. some studentsare not interested in a law career but the skills they learn will set them on a successful path for any career field. >> school court tv is in its third season. it is weekly on comcast. students are selected by audition to participate in this program.
